Trap Setting
"The easy way "By: Bob Anick
Below are step by step photos of how I set my traps. These photos are here for reference only. Please set all traps at your own risk. "Traps4kids and Myself :Bob Anick, will not be held liable for any injurys that may occur during the trap setting process" Proceed at your own risk.
Step # 1
The photo below shows how to get in the proper position to set the conibear by hand. The conibear we are using for this demonstration is a Specie Specific #330 12x10. Make sure you are on pretty firm ground and your feet are a shoulder width apart. You must be well balanced !
Step # 2
The photo below shows how to keep the spring from flying about and how to use your free hand to aid in compressing the spring.
Step # 3
The photo below shows the positioning of the saftey latch and explains how to latch the saftey hook.
The Set Trap
The photo below shows the set trap. Always use the conibear safety gripper for safety. I keep mine on the trap from the time the trap is set untill I leave the set area. It will not allow the trap to fire. I can place guide, or stabilizing sticks or I can wiggle, push, lift, move the trap anyway I want without fear of the trap firing on me.I will rarely be found setting a big conibear trap without it.
I recommend you invest in atleast one to keep yourself safe.
Setting Large
